Frequently
Asked Questions.

General Questions

What is ETF View?

ETF View is an independent industry forum convened by Ultumus that brings together senior operational leaders, market participants, authorised participants, transfer agents, security services providers, asset managers, and ETF issuers to collaborate on operational best practices, share insights, and collectively address ETF infrastructure challenges.

Why was ETF View created?

As ETF markets have grown exponentially, operational infrastructure has struggled to keep pace. ETF View provides a collaborative space where practitioners can move beyond competitive concerns to address shared challenges, establish industry standards, and shape the evolution of ETF infrastructure.

How is ETF View different from other industry forums?

ETF View is specifically focused on operational infrastructure rather than investment strategy or product development. We maintain deliberately focused membership to ensure productive dialogue, operate under Chatham House Rule to encourage candid discussion, and prioritise actionable outcomes over theoretical debate.

Who convenes ETF View?

ETF View is convened by Ultumus, a SIX company, providing ETF infrastructure services. While Ultumus facilitates the forum, ETF View operates independently, with all participants having equal voice regardless of commercial relationships.

Participation

Who can join ETF View?

ETF View is open to senior operational leaders from organisations actively involved in the ETF ecosystem, including ETF issuers, authorised participants, market makers, transfer agents, and service providers supporting creation/redemption, launch operations, or settlement. We deliberately maintain a focused membership to ensure productive dialogue and a trusted ETF practitioner network. If your organisation fits this profile, we welcome you to express interest through our contact form.

Who participates in ETF View?

ETF View brings together senior operational leaders from across the ETF ecosystem, including authorised participants, ETF issuers, market makers, transfer agents, security services providers, asset managers, and other market participants. This diversity of experience helps foster practical discussion and collective problem-solving around ETF infrastructure and operations.

How do I express interest in participating?

Organisations interested in ETF View membership or participation can express interest through our contact form. Requests are reviewed based on operational relevance and community balance.

Is there a cost to participate?

No. ETF View is a collaborative industry forum, not a commercial membership organisation. Participation requires only a commitment of time, active engagement, and a willingness to contribute expertise.

What's expected of participants?

Active engagement in quarterly convenings (in-person or virtual), candid sharing of operational insights and challenges, and a willingness to contribute to collaborative outputs such as working papers, best practice documentation, and industry viewpoints where appropriate.

Meetings & Content

How often does ETF View meet?

Quarterly. Meetings are held in a hybrid format (London and virtual participation) and typically last 1–2 hours.

What topics does ETF View cover?

Topics are driven by participant priorities and emerging industry challenges. Recent focus areas include European T+1 settlement, TA connectivity standards, API development, regulatory reporting requirements, cross-border operational complexity, and settlement netting protocols, reflecting the evolving needs of ETF infrastructure.

Are meeting discussions confidential?

Yes. ETF View operates under the Chatham House Rule, allowing participants to use information shared without attributing comments to specific individuals or organisations. This creates a trusted environment for open discussion around operational challenges, emerging risks, and industry developments.

Can I access meeting content if I'm not a participant?

Yes. Selected meeting insights, high-level themes, and consensus viewpoints are published publicly through our Insights & Resources section. Detailed meeting materials, working papers, and full discussion summaries are available exclusively to participants.
